New Machinery Investment: The Baty Venture 3030 CNC (CMM Machine)

Alex Kirkup-Lee • February 7, 2022

We are excited to announce that we have invested in the latest generation of vision inspection machines, the Baty Venture 2020 CNC (CMM Machine).

The Baty Venture 3030 CNC (CMM Machine)

Purchasing this machine is an important step in our commitment to both internal Product Quality Control and Customer support to be continually evolving and producing the best products available by using the most up to date and technologically advanced machinery.

The new Venture 3030 comes with a number of innovative features such as programmable segmented lighting, easy to use inspection software and the ability to incorporate touch probing in the measurement process. All of these features will allow us to be much more accurate in the measurement of parts by focusing on critical dimensions as well as automating the measurement process through its CNC capability. As our validation process follows the American FDA format, this ensures that new parts are produced in control and to Customer specification.

By using an automatic machine such as the Venture XT, we are able to quickly run a process capability study, which will ensure we meet quality standards and give our Customers statistical evidence that we will meet their required tolerances. This will be especially important for industries such as the medical industry, where requirements are becoming increasingly stricter following recent changes to the ISO13485:2016 medical standard.

Additional features of the Venture 3030 include:

  • Extended Z axis measuring 200mm, with a new integral counterbalance and a revised Z axis lens.
  • Increase field of view and up to 12x magnification.
  • Optimised use of a Renishaw touch probe, including the ability to fit a probe charger rack so that probe modules fitted with a variety of pre-calibrated Renishaw styli can also be used in the same inspection.
  • Advance software with features including a self-calibrating zoom lens and improved autofocus.

With strides being made to move towards greener manufacturing, a common question is “Why do we continue to produce and use plastics?”. After all, they don’t have the best reputation as sustainable materials. However, thanks to developments in the industry, this isn’t necessarily true anymore. Read our blog to find out the benefits of plastics in manufacturing.

Plastics are an essential material for manufacturing millions of parts, components and products. Sometimes the properties and behaviours need to be formulated in order to serve the right purpose. This is made possible by additives, which enhance certain properties and help to deliver the desired outcomes to the plastics with which they’re combined. Here are three popular additives which serve different purposes in plastic production.
